“Woke Culture at Work:Tackling solutions to racial inequity in organisations serious about inclusion”
This was a candid, potentially uncomfortable and definitely thought provoking session navigating new thinking in old spaces. From decolonising recruitment practices to interrogating company messaging – Joy & I put it all in the table , joined by incredibly engaged participants who indicated gratitude and relief for this topic in the conference proceedings.
It remains clear from this experience and others like it, there is an appetite for bold conversations that locate the burden for social change with dominant groups in society who wield power and influence.
Unless and until they are willing to accept responsibility to do better, these presentations will only impact superficially.
