Congratulations to the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights for launching their evaluation report, ‘Speaking Across the Sectarian Divide’. This was a monumental and timely project, given the climate of Islamaphobic tensions engulfing the community and subsequent intra-communal frays.

This project demonstrated an end product of progress via a series of respectful dialogue and leadership training activities for young people from diverse sects, who learnt to collaborate with a shared vision for social cohesion.

This launch took place today  at Deakin University’s ‘ISIS, Sectarianism and Islamaphobia’ forum, before community workers, stakeholders and academics. A powerful and educational session, this event represented a milestone in the communal space to counter hateful narratives with discourses of peacefulness and justice.

Congrats Team AMWHCR #SoProuds
