A pleasure to present with Karen Jackson today at the Department of Justice training session on ‘ Transformational Leadership’.

Along with Mary Crooks from the Victorian Women’s Trust, we covered the white saviour complex, cultural hegemony of male privilege and the struggle for black voices in white spaces.

Issues raised:
Transformational change as leaders comes with talking with – and not FOR communities.
The cultural hegemony that is male privilege, represents a dominant group who does not practice introspection, since their status quo is the standard against which all else is set; they are the norm. Ergo, the struggle for gender justice comes with having the agency to be recognised, and adopting a
more collegial and bipartisan than adversarial approach.

Love working on topics that matter and women who live their philosophy!
