Tonight I participated in a panel discussion on ‘Terrorism and Counter-terrorism’, for Pax Christi with Emeritus Professor Joseph Camilleri and renoun defence lawyer Rob Stary. In a discussion moderated by Overland’s Jacques Boulet, we covered topics from imperialism, multinationals, media bias and terror management theory. An intense and thought provoking session that made me grateful for the countless intellects and activists in our community who actually get the bigger picture of injustices and who agitate for change. This remains a contentious issue, steeped in racism and fear mongering with huge ramifications.
