Delighted to attend the Desmond Tutu Reconciliation Fellowship award ceremony held at the Melbourne Town Hall.
The award was presented by Dame Quentin Bryce to June Oscar for her tireless work within the Australian indigenous communities in the Kimberleys. Much of her life’s dedication has been towards dealing with unresolved trauma of her community.
A beautiful performance by Russell Smith on the didgeridoo featured during the ceremony.
This is was an incredible night meeting a string of activists and changemakers, including Aunty Joy Murphy, Dure Dara, Paul Kelly and Dame Quentin Bryce.

Feeling affirmed of my obligation to do more in view of a privilege that’s come at the cost of dispossession of indigenous communities
