This morning I met with Ed Husic MP, Shadow Minister for Employment Services and Workforce Participation.
We shared a candid conversation about a host of socio political issues including how the economic strain of low income families is furthered when many early childhood centres aren’t accredited to deliver quality services, leading to systemic disadvantage. We also discussed the promotion of arts events in creating opportunities for emerging artists, tackling gender bias in schools and navigating middle ground between a future of increased automation and workforce opportunity.
As the son of a migrant, Ed is mindful of the struggles of those settling in this country, affected by racism and barriers to employment and education. His ability to garner grassroots respect while advocating for social change, is admirable. Huge respect for a man with rare integrity in his field.
