Had a visit this morning from Federal MP, Ed Husic- the first Muslim member of Australian parliament to hold a Federal seat (Chifley, NSW).
On his first visit to the IMA, Ed was chuffed to see his profile amongst many in the ‘Prominent Australian Muslims’ display, also featuring the Quran his father gifted him for his swearing-in for public office. Kinda spesh ?? .
Its a rare and thankful moment to encounter members of parliament who display an earthy connectedness to their communities.
