In a show of déjà vu, the tabloids have demonstrated what’s glaringly lacking in inclusive marketing. VOGUE Australia (centre image) emerging as the only magazine to buck the trend of whitewashing its cover image. With close to 1 in 2 Australians being born overseas or having a parent born overseas, the viewing public in no way reflect the continued parade of ‘white is right’ prototypes, media outlets need insist on showcasing to sell their product. They must do better. Representation speaks to inclusion, respect and reality.
