Speaking on a panel ‘SHE ROARS: Muslim Women and Feminism in Islam’ (love the title!) for #Muslimcollective as part of #SalamFest2018 . My co-panelists were the erudite Dr Shakira Hussein and boxing sensation, Bianca Elmir, with Reem Soueid artfully facilitating.
We covered the personal, transnational and intersectional dimensions of feminism, along with observations about future blue prints for inclusive societies.
It was thoroughly thought provoking with audience interaction affirming the need for more spaces to discuss Muslim women’s agency, by Muslim women.
